Roost is an independent, design-led kitchen and joinery supplier. We design first, then supply through trusted British manufacturers, workshops and specialist suppliers suited to the project.
Where Roost began
Roost came from a simple frustration. After years of fitting kitchens and working around other people's designs, Jamie kept seeing projects where the finished kitchen looked fine on paper but had not been properly considered for the people who would live with it every day.
Sometimes it was storage. Sometimes it was movement. Sometimes it was the way the kitchen connected to the rest of the home. Sometimes it was a series of small decisions that nobody had really questioned.
When people are investing so much money, time and trust into their home, "that will do" is not good enough.
Good design is considered design.
This is the belief Roost is built on.
Good design is not a fixed style. It is not about telling people what they should or should not have. It is not about choosing the most expensive material or following the latest trend.
Good design means the important decisions have been thought through properly. The room, the routines, the budget, the movement, the storage, the light, the feeling and the compromises all need to be considered before anything is made.
Most kitchen conversations begin with products
Think: door styles, worktops, appliance brands, ranges and finishes.
Those decisions matter, but they are not the place to begin.
Roost starts by understanding what the kitchen needs to do.
How you cook. How you move. Where you put things. What currently frustrates you. What the room needs to become.
Only then does it make sense to talk about what the kitchen should look like and how it should be made.
Independent, but not detached
Roost is not a consultant sending clients off to find a manufacturer. Roost designs and supplies the kitchen.
The difference is that Roost is not restricted to one showroom range or one manufacturer's catalogue. That means the project can lead the solution, rather than the other way around.
